Term-Time Nursery Nurse

A Nursery Nurse position has become available; it is for a minimum of 30 hours per week (Scheduled between 07:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday) This position is term-time only.

We are looking for colleagues who are able to demonstrate sector experience and competence having worked in childcare organisations. You will be a Key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relations with children and families. This includes the general care and wellbeing of all children in your care, observe care of the nursery resources and use all available equipment to help enhance the childrens learning. They will plan and prepare rooms for enhanced learning and development using EYFS guidelines, and always ensuring that the childrens learning, development, safety and safeguarding needs are being met.

The candidate will need to be well motivated, enthusiastic and preferably have some experience of working with children from 0 through to 5 years old.

The successful candidate will be required to:
  • Have a passion for children and childcare
  • Have a minimum NNEB, NVQ/CACHE level 2 / 3 or equivalent qualification (or above).
  • Have a sound knowledge of the EYFS
  • Have a good, professional level of spoken and written English.
  • Have a minimum of one year experience of working with children under 5 daycare experience is desirable.
  • Take responsibility of a group of key children.
  • Plan a range of interesting, age appropriate activities.
  • Create engaging learning environments.
  • Have a key eye for health and safety and safeguarding issues.
  • Be proactive, self-motivated and have an attention for detail.
  • Be an extrovert; have an outgoing personality which is open and caring towards children.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

The pay will be £6.73 per hour (for a NVQ level 3) and you will be entitled to 4 weeks holiday plus all Bank Holidays.
The successful candidate will need to have a DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service), and this will be paid by the company if you haven’t already joined the Update Service. If you leave before your contract ends then we will be entitled to deduct the cost of the DBS from your last month’s pay. As an employee you will be expected to join the Update Service and this will form part of your terms of contract.
